To uphold the prestige of the Press, to defend the professional interests of the members of the Association and assist them in carrying out their professional duties. Members: Professional journalists duly accredited to the League of Nations and attached to a daily newspaper or an agency, if their credentials clearly show that they have been instructed to follow the work of the League. Before joining the Association, members must have attended during the previous year at least two sessions of the Council or Assembly or a Government conference convened by the League. The Bureau may make exceptions to these rules only when no doubt exists as to the professional character of the candidate's activities (HB 1938).

Finances

L'Association tire ses revenus des droits d'inscription et des cotisations annuelles payés par ses membres (HB 1936). The Association derives its income from the entrance fees and annual subscriptions of its members (HB 1938).

Activities

Les membres de l'Association, qui est officiellement reconnue par la Société des Nations, se réunissent au moins une fois par an en une assemblée annuelle, tenue à Genève au cours de l'Assemblée de la Société des Nations. Un Comité, qui se réunit fréquemment à Genève, a pour tâche la défense constante des intérêts des membres; il maintient le contact avec le Secrétariat de la Société des Nations et collabore avec lui à l'application des règlements relatifs aux membres de la presse qui suivent les travaux de la Société des Nations. L'Association est consultée sur les questions relatives à la presse qui se présentent au Conseil ou à l'Assemblée de la Société des Nations (HB 1936). The members of the Association, which is officially recognised by the League, hold a general meeting at least once a year at Geneva during the League Assembly. A Committee, which meets frequently at Geneva, has been set up to keep a constant watch oyer the members' interests. It is in contact with the League Secretariat and collaborates with it in applying the rules relating to members of the Press following the work of the League. The Association is consulted on Press questions arising in the Council or Assembly (HB 1938).
