L'Association a été constituée le 25 septembre 1925, à Berne, par la fusion des deux Associations internationales «pour la protection légale des travailleurs» et «pour la lutte contre le chômage» et par l'adhésion de plusieurs sections nationales et de membres isolés de l'ancien «Comité permanent international des assurances sociales» qui n'avait pas repris activité depuis la guerre (HB 1925). The Association was constituted on September 25th, 1925, at Berne, by the amalgamation of two international associations for labour legislation and against unemployment and by the adhesion of various national sections and individual members of the former Permanent International Committee for Social Insurance, which had not resumed its activities since the war (HB 1929). l'Association publie une revue périodique: L'Avenir du Travail. Elle tient une Assemblée générale annuelle des représentants de ses groupements nationaux. Le Comité directeur peut, lorsqu'il le juge opportun, convoquer des réunions plénières des sections techniques ou des congrès généraux (HB 1925).
