HB 1936: Se plaçant en dehors et au-dessus de tous les partis politiques et de toutes les organisations philosophiques et confessionnelles : 1° lutte par tous les moyens en son pouvoir contre les pogromes antijuifs qui déshonorent l'humanité; 2° défend, par une action à la fois préventive et positive, le droit à l'existence et à la paix des Israélites dans le monde entier ; 3° se propose de réaliser, par l'union des hommes et des femmes de toutes opinions, le rapprochement des peuples, la paix entre les races et l'égalité parmi les hommes. HB 1938: Stands apart from and above all political parties and all philosophical and denominational organisations: (1) Adopts every means in its power to combat racial prejudice and anti-Jewish pogroms, which are a disgrace to humanity; (2) Takes pre- ventive and positive action to protect the right to existence and peace of oppressed minorities (Israelites, coloured races, Moslems, etc.) throughout the world; (3) Aims, by uniting men and women of all schools of thought, at bringing the peoples closer together, and at peace between races and equality among men.

General facts

HB 1936: La L. I. C. A. a été fondée en 1927, à la suite de l'assassinat de Petlioura par Chalom Schwartzbard. Elle s'est appliquée non seulement à lutter contre les pogromes et à en empêcher le renouvellement, mais aussi à réfuter les doctrines anti¬sémites et racistes, à lutter contre le numerus clausus, pour le droit des minorités ethniques, etc. La L. I. C. A. a fondé des groupements particuliers tels que ses sections féminines, ses groupes scolaires, ses groupes sportifs, ses groupes universitaires, ses groupes d'anciens combattants et surtout ses groupes de «self-defence». HB 1938: The International Federation was founded in 1927 after the assassination of Petliura by Chalom Schwartzbard. It has endeavoured not only to combat pogroms and to prevent their recurrence, but also to refute anti-Semitic doctrines and racial prejudice, to oppose the numerus clausus, to uphold the rights of racial minorities, etc. The International Federation has founded special groups such as its women's sections, educational, athletic a n d university groups, groups of ex-service men and in particular self-defence groups.

Activities

HB 1936: La L. I C. A. organise dans tous les pays des meetings et conférences de propagande contre l'antisémitisme et contre le racisme. Chaque section nationale a un Congrès annuel, et la Fédération internationale se réunit en Conférence internationale chaque année en septembre, dans un lieu désigné à l'avance. HB 1938: The International Federation organises meetings and lectures in all countries, for propaganda against racial prejudice and anti-Semitism. Each national section holds an annual Congress, and the International Federation holds an International Conference every year in September, at a place selected in advance.
