Object
The promotion of research in all branches of Islamic studies. The expression "promotion of research" implies both carrying on research actively or giving assistance to persons engaged in research. Such assistance may be in the shape of financial help, the lending of books and manuscripts, the obtaining of manuscripts and information likely to be helpful to research workers. The expression "Islamic Studies" includes all branches of learning and is not restricted to any particular aspects - e.g., it includes history, religious systems, sects, philosophy, science, literature, art, ethnology, archaeology, philology, etc. The IRA by its constitution does not enter into any propaganda or controversy, religious or political. It is purely an intellectual organisation.
