Founded by Prince ALbert I of Monaco, the International Mediterranean Commission began with seven member States. The work done has induced seven other States to take up membership. Plenary assemblies and annually meetings of the Central Bureau.

Fondée par le prince Albert Ier de Monaco, la Commission internationale de la Méditerranée comptait au début sept Etats membres. Le travail effectué a incité sept autres Etats à adhérer à la Commission. Des assemblées plénières
ont eu lieu à Madrid (1919), à Paris (1922), Madrid (1924), Venise (1926), Malaga (1929), Paris (1931). En outre, le Bureau central se réunit tous les ans à Paris.
