The organisation of international congresses of linguists; to make a linguistic survey of the world with special reference to idioms in process of dying out; to act as a clearing centre for information on linguistic developments in the various countries.

If necessary, the funds of the Committee are supplemented by the balances remaining after the congress of linguists.
